Although J.Lo confesses in the ad, "Here, this is my world. This place inspires me to be tougher, to stay sharper, to think faster. They may be just streets to you but to me, they're a playground, it turns out she didn't actually need to return to her roots to feel connected to them.
According to The Smoking Gun, Lopez shot her scenes for the commercial in Los Angeles, and used a body double for the Bronx shots. An ad agency then digitally merged the two so it looked like Lopez was driving through New York City.
Neither Lopez nor Fiat have commented about this faux-fiasco, but we're wondering what, exactly, the big deal is. This kind of stuff happens all the time in Hollywood. We don't really believe that sitcoms shoot in the Big Apple and not on a soundstage in LA, right? Why should this commercial be any different?
